Frequently Asked Questions
– What are the class dates?
We work with you to lock in a date/s which are suitable for you and our availability. The course and date/s are only reserved once a deposit has been paid. If we haven’t received the deposit the date you have enquired for or are interested in, it is still available to be booked in by another person. Therefore, we recommend securing your booking date/s with a deposit to avoid any disappointment.
– Can I really learn-to-tint in 1 or 2 days?
Yes, we have a very practical approach to teaching you how to tint using refined processes and techniques with beginners in mind to assist with your learning. Other factors to be mindful of when selecting the appropriate course duration is your background, personal ability to learn new things hands on including the pace you are most comfortable with. We take years of experience in tinting and simplify it into basics and foundations of how to tint reducing the time to master the skills yourself through our 1-Day or 2-Day window tint training courses. We train on many different style windows to give you the knowledge needed to properly cut, prepare the glass and apply window tint. The hands-on approach along with active guidance and repetitiveness will embed the skills in your mind to continue practicing until you are ready to take on your own jobs.

– Is tinting film provided?
For the course you will be using the tint film we provided. Our training is focused on using premium films only, at a minimum standard expected by paying customers and we avoid inexpensive, flimsy, single-ply dyed films as we don’t believe in teaching on low quality films if you want to achieve high quality results for your customers. Melbourne Tinting Academy also supplies its own window tinting film at a competitive price to our students and this is also the tint film we use when we train you.
– Will we be training on different cars?
No, because the difference between cars comes down to time and practice. We are focused on teaching you the skills to tint anything. We believe the time should be spent on processes, techniques, tips and tricks which will be applicable to many modern and common vehicles you see on a daily basis.
– How will this course increase my business?
If you are thinking of adding window tinting on as an additional service, this new skill is always in demand and offers another income stream for your business which is easy to upsell in businesses such as car detailing, car wrapping and other automotive related trades where the customer has already entrusted you with their vehicle. If you are already tinting and wish to refine your skills, or are starting from scratch, we can help you! Time is money and you will leave knowing how to work faster and efficiently. You can get more jobs done each day, and customers will be happier with a prompt turnaround time. You will have less waste and improve the quality of your work. Additionally, you will pick up techniques, tips and tricks to simplify the process. All of this will keep customers coming back and referring their friends and family to you.
– Do we get continued support?
Yes, you can reach out to us through email or text if you have any questions or need help with particular techniques after your course. This has proven to be very helpful for our students in the early stages of practicing on their own and grasping the various steps. Please allow up to 48hrs for responses as our trainers are often busy during business hours training other students.
– Will I receive a certificate on completion of the training course?
Yes, upon learning our techniques and successfully completing the training, you will receive a Melbourne Tinting Academy certificate sent to your elected email address. This is generally sent out within 3-5 business days of post completion of the training.
– How long will it take to get good at tinting?
Our mission is to equip you with the knowledge to properly tint a vehicle, as well as apply the film with a clean installation. You will gain the techniques to tint any window. Speed is what will come with time and experience. With most cars, working at a steady (not fast) rate, most experienced window tinters average an hour and a half per vehicle. When you will average a vehicle in an hour and a half depends on how many vehicles you tint per week. We will teach you the necessary skill set to help you achieve that goal over time.
– What’s the guarantee for the course?
We guarantee that you will learn the processes and techniques needed to cut, shrink and properly apply window tint, as well as leave with a clear understanding of window film. Please note we do not guarantee you continued work.
